With over a decade of development experience in both the nonprofit and private sectors, Serena Shapero now proudly serves as the Director of Community at the XPRIZE Foundation.

Serena is a seasoned development director, entrepreneur, and creative. She has supported organizations including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the Anti-Defamation League, and Girls on the Run. She is a resolute and resilient team player who has a unique ability to generate interest and action to secure commitments to current and future institutional mission advancement. She is an innovative risk taker when seeking to achieve breakthrough goals by identifying untapped or underdeveloped revenue sources. Serena has extensive experience with building pipeline, creating impactful donor experiences, gift solicitations and closures, and creating unique and meaningful stewardship paths.

In addition to her advancement work, Serena toured the world in a nine-piece original soul band, infusing her passion for music into her community engagement efforts. At XPRIZE, she continues to foster innovation and collaboration to drive meaningful impact.
